The Abbott family frantically conspires to cover up their crimes but can't piece together what has happened to Royal.

Royal and Autumn also seem to come to a weird detente, and Amy discovers something on a hike.

So I guess Trevor's body only went a few days into the future. This time-hole is hard to figure out...

Stealing evidence from the police station seems like a really bad move.

I regret to say that this episode is where I tapped out. I’m still deeply curious about the giant hole of time travel but I cannot bring myself to give one single solitary crap about any of these grownass adult sons (from either family) and their rodeos and drunken bar fights and weird daddy issues. I will wait until the season is over and read a recap and then decide if I want to watch the rest.

I like this show, but it is moving very slowly. You can see where it's going but it's acting like it's got 2 seasons to get really interesting. Not to spoil the later episodes. (Though episode 6 rushes the timing of it's events a lot.) But overall you want to watch this show for the deeper mystery, but again, feels like they know they've got a second season greenlit so they aren't getting to the payoff you'd want to see yet. I'm glad they are doing 2 episodes a week though. Any slower and it'd be terrible.

Oh, and the daughter is clearly Autumn who's gone back in time. An echo of Royal's story.

The marquee on the theater in town is for The Phantom Tollbooth, in which a kid goes through a portal to the faded Kingdom of Wisdom.
