Just to give my first hand experience:
The Dark Elevation taping happened before the live broadcast. Following the end of Dynamite, there was an extra match of Chaos Project vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland.
Then following that: there was an extra segment where MJF came out and thanked the Long Island crowd, in his heelish way, for making him feel like a hero in his hometown. He said it made him feel like he could “take on anyone”, which OF COURSE brought out CM Punk.
MJF and Punk get into a bit of a staredown and exchange words, with Punk giving special attention to the Islanders sucking. MJF tells Punk that he can fight a Long Island boy, but it won’t be him… and out comes HOOK.
Punk goes into full 2012-chickenshit-heel-champion mode and rolls out of the ring as Hook enters, but then Danhausen comes down the ramp and scares Punk back into the ring, where Hook flips him once or twice. He and Danhausen walk away and leave Punk lying in the middle of the ring, where he stayed even when the house lights came up and the crowd started filing to their cars.

I suppose so, bit we’re all internet smarks now, so once the lights came Punk still got his cheers while he laid down in the ring.
Here’s some coverage of the whole segment.

And here's someone's cell phone video of the entire segment, including Punk selling until they rolled him backstage.

Every match Hangman has had as champ has been great so I hesitate to say I wish the belt was off him but John Silver is way too good to be stuck in the role of guy who eats pins in order to put some heat on whoever is going after the championship this month.
