All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite: AEW Dynamite 7/6 & Rampage 7/8
July 6, 2022 3:43 PM - Season 3, Episode 40 - Subscribe

With both the Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts in the rearview, did you expect Tony Khan to take it easy this week? Sorry, let's have two title defenses instead!

Tonight's card:

--Luchasaurus will fight, with Christian Cage alongside as his new heel manager
--Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee vs. The Butcher and The Blade
--Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir vs Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm (CAN THEY COEXIST?)
--Scorpio Sky vs. Wardlow in a Street Fight for the TNT Championship
--Jon Moxley vs. Brody King for the Interim AEW World Championship

PLUS... possibly a new debut being teased for the Andrade Familia?

The Wardlow match was unexpectedly brief but satisfying, the TNT Championship is on someone who the audience wants to watch carry it, the only downside is the continuing uselessness of American Top Team as a heel faction.

The show's coming from Rochester, so the Dark Order's coming out with Negative One in honor of his father, the late Brodie Lee. It's nice to see them all together, but speaking of useless heels, here comes QT Marshall!

Andrade brings out Rush for his first official AEW match against Penta, and it occurs to me that this match could only happen here, since Rush is a CMLL guy and Penta is a AAA guy.

Unexpected 8-man tag between Gunn Club & Acclaimed vs. Fuego del Sol, Bear Country and Leon Ruff (whom I haven't seen since before the pandemic). And hey, a storyline has finally reached completion as the Gunns and the Acclaimed come to blows, which means Max Castor and Anthony Bowens probably have a face turn coming.

Rush is a CMLL guy and Penta is a AAA guy.

And man, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better illustration of the difference between CMLL and AAA.

A very good episode of Rampage also sets up some things for the upcoming Ring of Honor PPV. Looks like Rampage will be the "ROH-with-a-few-AEW-people" show for the next few weeks, which is fine with me. And the Kingston-Jericho feud gets a new chapter (and a great Kingston promo) leading to Fyter Fest.
