I didn't think it really warranted being broke up into 6 separate episodes. Really great documentary on the history of ILM, unfortunately a bit uncritical and feels like a puff piece (especially towards the end). One review says it would have been better served to be broken up by decades instead of being Star Wars heavy in the beginning until a quick run down on the last 3 decades of digital in the last two episodes, I agree.

It also got really intriguing on how they did some detailed models and how they dealt with deadlines but never really explained how they did things technically, what their process was. I get a lot of it was they were working with existing film they had and they couldn't just walk over and say here's where we machined the equipment, etc. but things went from abstract sketches to finished products pretty quickly.
