Bad Sisters: Baby Becka
September 9, 2022 1:23 AM - Season 1, Episode 4 - Subscribe

Brushed off by the police, Thomas Claffin sets his sights on interviewing Becka. Via flashbacks, we learn what JP did to make Becka hate him so much.

In the present: When Thomas and Matt go to interview Becka, Matt and Becka are horrified to find out they are both involved in the investigation. In the past: we see how JP deceived Becka into thinking he would help her buy her own massage studio and then, when she had put herself into debt for the down payment, pulled out again at the last minute—and then made Grace tell Becka the bad news. Meanwhile, Blanaid accuses Grace of being boring and never doing anything, not seeing how her father has been slowly sapping the life out of her mother. Becka, enraged at JP’s sadistic treatment of her, is inducted into her sisters’ murder club. At work, JP is slowly poisoning his and Eva’s boss against Eva in an attempt to scuttle her chances at the promotion and strengthen his own.

This dick move was a little confusing for me, mostly just seems spiteful, until I remembered Becka saying that Grace could work with her. Do we think that's it, or maybe Becka starting to uncover some family secrets at JP's mother's house? I didn't quite follow what exactly she was seeing + reacting to.

Steeling myself for something bad happening to the new cat (haven't watched the most recent ep yet).

Thanks for putting up the episode-specific posts!

I’m still not totally sure why JP screwed Becka over the way he did. I hadn’t considered that it was because of her offering Grace a job; I assumed he was never going to give Becka the money, but I bet the idea of Grace having a job and some independence was just the nail in the coffin if he ever was thinking of it.

At JP’s mother’s house she sees the photo album with pictures of JP dressed in his dead sister’s clothes—like, the mom was in such denial that the sister had died she dressed JP in her clothes to pretend he was her, maybe?

I had the exact same thought on seeing the new kitten.

I cannot believe how much this show makes me want their murder club to be successful. I’m literally rooting for his death. I know it’s coming! Give it to me!

I feel their frustration immensely. Often the cruelty is too much.

And I absolutely love the time transitions! Little viewfinder clips flipping back and forth. Enjoying this show so much.

The viewfinder effect is fantastic! It’s a clever way of situating us in time and also the flipping sound is so satisfying.
