Found the whole “shark tank” plot device just incredibly depressing. Bleh.

Yeah I felt like that worked in Letterkenny, which has a much looser structure, but Ava actually doing it was maybe a bit rough even for her.

I just loved the running gag about Barbara's inability to get the names and identities of celebrities right. (Although I think I missed something with the one about Michelle Williams, because at first I thought maybe she was confusing Vanessa Williams, but she listed Dawson't Creek, so maybe I just wasn't listening right...)

OT, but this is interesting:
Co-starring Ryan Gosling, Blue Valentine is about the tribulations faced by a disillusioned married couple. Before production began, Cianfrance had Williams and Gosling live together for a month on a stipend that matched their characters' income. This exercise led to conflicts between them, which proved conducive for filming their characters' deteriorating marriage.
