Wow, really? We missed this one?

Okay, I'll bite. This wasn't as good a movie along any dimension as its predecessor, with two exceptions:

I don't know who I'm stealing this from, but imagine the person who said "What can we do to increase the popularity of maybe the biggest girls' movie of all time? We give them a horse."

The early-days-of-music-videos "Lost in the Woods" sequence is pretty fun.

I haven't watched this one but I really like "Into the Unknown" and "Show Yourself". Elsa keeps coming out in her songs to no effect.

Why can't Elsa remain queen and have Honeymaren be her consort?

The Mouse won't do this but an indie film might have.

"The Next Right Thing" might be the saddest song I've ever heard and I've heard a ton of songs. So wild to put a song with the lines "Hello darkness / I'm ready to succumb" in an actual children's movie? I can't even listen to it. My husband thinks Frozen 2 is the better of the Frozen movies and wants to put the soundtrack on for the kids sometimes but I honestly lose my mind just dreading that song coming on.

Too bad because "Into the Unknown" slaps. It's the "I just scheduled my gender affirming surgery" to "Let it Go"s "I'm about to tell my parents I'm a woman actually".

My wife, a huge Disney fan, really wanted me to watch this. She had already seen it, and said it was "a super cute romance with really nice songs."

Afterward, she asked me what I thought, and I told her it was "a scathing indictment of climate change and colonialism."

We still love each other anyway.
