How seriously is the ending meant to be taken, given some of the surreal content before it? Is it the equivalent of young Pink's daydream after being humiliated before his classmates? An actual lashing-out, like the end of Zero for Conduct? I don't know.

Is it considered problematic now (esp. in the U.S., given the government's inaction in re: mass murders)? I don't know.

Did it find it unusual and thoroughly engaging? Yes.
