Abbott Elementary: Mural Arts
March 4, 2023 6:39 PM - Season 2, Episode 17 - Subscribe

A mural's going to be done at the school. The charter thing comes up again. Janine tries to figure out how to break up with Maurice.

Plot points:
* Jacob has spent a long time trying to get a mural done at Abbott. The kids INSIST on doing one about "the silly sock show," which Jacob hates but has to give in on.
* Janine and Gregory together tell Maurice about the kiss. Maurice isn't fazed until she wants to actually break up. He is quite pouty.
* A student gets kicked out of the charter school for not having high enough test scores and has to come back to Abbott.

"You a dork, but you messy, girl." -Erica to Janine. (Legit.)

"NOT THE PORNO AGAIN!" -Barbara

"Okay, Robert de no no." -Ava on Melissa's acting skills. (Then Barbara calls the number, doing an English accent, followed by a Jamaican accent....)

"If anyone's going to take advantage of this school district, it's going to be ME." -Ava

"Why so macabre, bro? We got jalapeno poppers on deck." -Maurice
"You can have my baby, but not my baby backs." -also Maurice.

"Shut up, Janine." "I'm JACOB." -Ava and Jacob

Maurice is a good guy, wishing the best for him. Janine and Gregory deciding to sit down together and break the news to him on what was supposed to be a date is so self centered and horrifying. They are perfect for each other, in good ways and in bad, heh.

Loved Melissa's can-do attitude about bullying the sensitive artists.

Yeeeees, the anti-charter school plot picking up. I hope Melissa's sister continues to be a mole in the organization.

I’d pay for good footage of the writers’ room as they landed on Bonetown for the name of the restaurant. So perfect.

Honestly this show is like “what if the wire, but it was a cozy soft-boiled half-hour workplace comedy” and I am HERE. FOR. IT.

And Maurice called them out on it! I hope we see Maurice again somewhere, living his best life.

I’m caught up and can watch this live now! Love this show so much.

Erika was right, Janine may be a dork but she is messy! Maurice and Amber would be perfect for each other when he’s a bit less hurt.

I liked Jacob's moment when his student said Jacob is his favorite teacher.

The break up planning was so painful to watch! Secondhand embarrassment for the stupidity of the idea.
