This felt like kind of a needless episode. 55 minutes of recapping the end of S6 (Michael Prince is vaguely bad! Chuck Rhodes still doesn't know who to trust!) for a shot of the band getting back together.

As someone who dropped out sometime in season 6 I was glad of the catch up! While I do like this show glad they are wrapping it up.

Too bad that S6 go so stupid 2/3rds of the way through (or whenever that "Hahaha, all those people you thought you were fucking over? We were fucking you Chuck! We planned it all along!!!" shot of the ~4 antagonists standing in a row happened) that 90% of the audience left, never to return. Hopefully someone posts recaps to Fanfare so I can find out how the series ends, lol.

I will say that seeing a giant Billions themed slot machine at the Park MGM back in June now makes more sense.

I love this goofy show. And while concepts of "_____ for men" and "_____ for women" are usually pretty rancid, I will never come up with a better description of this than "soap operas for men." Nothing that happens ever makes sense, but something is always happening here. Everything about the Michael Prince as replacement Axe is so weird that it's just hilarious: what if there was a successful investor who wasn't obnoxious. what if this nice megalomaniac guy was bad, actually. what if chuck feels empty without his mutually destructive war against axe and decides he might as well sub in his wife's new boss. what if we could get damian lewis back for the final season and decided that prince was going to run for president, and he is actually an evil fascist who will destroy the country. what if, by the way, axe spent his season abroad being a good arms dealer and everyone actually loves him now.

I'm not including the "what if we got sick of having Chuck in jail and immediately un-did it" because I kind of love how that went down. Also, I would probably be reluctantly affectionate for real-life Chuck, since I would only know him as "that attention-hungry prosecutor who keeps going after rich investors and wait is that also the BDSM guy?! free him."

Seriously, Showtime is undefeated with this stuff.

I've been watching along with my wife, who's a huge Giamatti stan, and have kept my mouth shut for the last six seasons about what Giamatti + Lewis woulda coulda shoulda been.

We started up the final season last night and I realized I was enjoying the fact that the show doesn't make you think, like at all. Logic is so far out the window that they have to spell everything out with no ambiguity. Passive viewing FTW!
