Odds are against the Batch as they operate behind enemy lines.

I didn’t realize next week’s episode is the last one. The other seasons had 16 episodes each so maybe it will be double length? But even with 40 minutes they’re going to have difficulty wrapping this up without a bunch of loose threads dangling. I’m definitely going to miss these characters.

A Zillo rodeo seems almost inevitable now. Hope she gets to feast on the guys shooting her.

I’ve got a bad feeling Echo isn’t going to make it. His ‘I’m not mad I’m disappointed’ talk with Emerie had that air of finality. I hope I’m wrong; Echo is my favorite clone. How strange to see his ears again!

I wouldn't lay money on any of the Beebs making it out. I think that it might occur to one or two of them that, as long as Hemlock is alive, he can just set up somewhere else and keep looking for Omega while he kidnaps more kids.

i meant to add, radio silence + Echo wearing Stormtrooper armor = significant likelihood of a friendly-fire incident.

I think unless that super trooper guy turns out to be a brainwashed Tech, we'll probably lose one of the Batchers. Wrecker keeps getting knocked pretty good, first an explosion, then an exotic nightmare beast on the planet, but pairing up Hunter and Omega for the future just doesn't feel 100% right. Other candidates for Clone martyrdom is Crosshair who "owes" Omega for not leaving him behind. He was always kind of on the fringe, so he's possibly going to die taking a shot that saves everyone or something.

Given Omega's Force sensitivity, whomever survives is going to have to disappear with her. It's either going to be Wrecker or Crosshair, I have no basis to back that up. Echo I see surviving, but only because he needs to keep resisting the Empire in some capacity.

I enjoyed this episode, but like everyone else, even a double episode (I'm guessing between 40 to 55 minutes long) is going to be non-stop action.

The Zillo Beast returns! Our favorite SW kaiju, with agreement, will rise again. Unless it lives wild and free on Tantiss, I don't see how it survives this though.

Bets we get some montage of the Force kids being reunited with their parents, then the parents and them, ushered by Ventress to meet up with Quinlan Vos to put them on the Path to safety. Maybe Omega starts the path with her surviving brothers (and Emerie?).

I have a strong suspicion that many of these plot threads are not going to be resolved, and they’ll just segue into whatever the next Star Wars animated series is.

Raise your hand if you want the next film to be Zillo: A Star Wars Story.

That is the big question and I bet we get some kind of answer either this May the 4th or at Star Wars Celebration Japan next year. Nothing but Tales of the Empire has been announced, which is a continuation of Tales of the Jedi, so the question is: are we going to just get mini-series like these or will we get some legit season long series like the Batch and Clone Wars.

(No disrespect to Young Jedi Adventures which is a delightful show, but 100% not the serial storytelling vehicle of the Clone Wars family. Likewise, Visions which I bet we get another round of, is really just a collection of vignettes.)

Not to mention, the biggest driving force behind Lucasfilm Animation, Dave Filoni, is 100% pivoting the majority of his time to live action. I expect he still has a strong role with the Tale of stuff, but he's kind of passed the reins on to people like Carrie Beck, who have actually kind of followed him more into live action now. I think that really leaves Athena Portillo and Josh Rimes as the animation peeps.

I would not mind a High Republic show as the literary side of that project has been overall pretty fantastic and could work alongside Acolyte as a visual part of the THR storytelling. Alternatively, give me a post-Jedi animation and tell stories with the OT folks without using de-aging and other weird things.

Wow, there is a lot to do in one last episode. Rescue the clones, rescue the kids. Loop Rex (and Wolffe?) (and Cody?) in somehow? (And Tech?) Ride off into a sunset, if anyone survives?

Rampart is a weird little loose end. The Batch can't just shoot him, they're the good guys. The Empire could, so I hope his intel is valuable enough to keep him alive. He's been good comic relief.

Bad Batch post-credits scene: the Zillo Beast conquers the jungle of Tantiss? I don't think the base survives the episode.

A bit of intel Rampart doesn't (yet) know he has: he saw Omega with Senator Chuchi back on Coruscant. They spent a good few seconds glaring at each other. If he meets her again and puts two and two together that won't be good news for the Honorable Senator from Pantora.

Also, why bring back Ventress for only one episode? The show's producer promised her return would be in keeping with the novel that killed her off but we've seen nothing of that either way.

It's little things like this that make me think the next animated series is going to be about the origins of the capital-R Rebellion with the backdrop of the Jedi Babies getting trained. Does Omega stay with her brothers or go for her Hello Kitty laser sword?

Things are definitely planned. From online chatter of people speculating, some folks have thought maybe she'll have an appearance in Ahsoka season two due to the arrival at Dathomir at the end of the season and the heavy involvement of the Night Sisters.

Alternatively, maybe she's going to show up in the Tales of the Empire.

Third option is they reconnect her to Quinlan Vos, a Jedi we know survived the purge and played some kind of role with "The Path," that was brought up in the Kenobi series. Perhaps she will play a role in finding Force sensitive kiddos and people and moving them onto the Path with Quinlan being a partner in said process.

The one thing that is just hanging out there is that per the current storytelling, Luke takes his darn time building his academy. That leaves a whole generation of kids that need training and protecting from the rise of the Empire to it's fall and Luke's eventual academy. I think about Ezra and can't believe he wouldn't want to continue Kanan's legacy, either. Which all creates this jumbled and unspoken idea that Luke did not have the only academy or, well, a place where people are taught to learn the Force, etc.
