So the friend he 'made at work' will turn out to literally be a friend that he constructed, right?

I think that Masa was his own saboteur. Inventing robots and then also inserting backdoors for folks to use to get around the (evil?) company's vision of how they should be used/limited.

I think he's a robot-rights activist.

But I want more about the elderly robot repairman and his daughter!
