“Five minutes into the conversation, Kellen was grinning so widely his face ached. He could see Nettle trying to catch his eye and very slightly shaking her head. She knew what his grin meant, even if this idiot merchant didn’t.”

Kellen and Nettle make an unlikely pair in Hardinge’s book Unravelled. Kellen loves goading people, picking things apart, upsetting the apple cart. nettle is just doing everything she can to keep herself together. But the two are bound to one another by Kellen’s gift and Nettle’s tragedy. nettle was cursed and Kellen is the only one in the land who can undo curses. political intrigue and who-done-it drives the plot forward at a satisfyingly fast pace. For people who love adventurous plots, strong world building, and found family.

Frances Hardinge may be the greatest world-builder writing fantasy right now.

I didn't exactly know that I needed an eerie, twisty, peril-filled adventure novel about the importance of therapy, but I definitely did.

I love this. Hardinge seems to be very interested in exploring how people are in general, and I loved the world building.
