Aqua gets his big climactic scene, and the premiere performance of Tokyo Blade comes to an end, and we see members of the cast and crew reflect on the performance. The quest for revenge also continues...

Aqua has his big fight with Himekawa and demonstrates the results of his training in the emotional acting hyperbolic time chamber. The scenes are inter-cut with flashbacks of Ai, this time with some new voiced lines. The PTSD shadow also comes back, and Aqua deals with his grief and rage for the first part of the performance while summoning the dream of Ai coming back to life for the part where he needs to emote for the revival of Akane's character.

The first show ends, the Kana and Akane rivalry ends with both thinking that the other won. We see Aqua in the bathroom, preparing DNA samples from various members of the cast and crew to see if can get any more clues as to who his father is. There's an ambiguous time jump to a future performance of Tokyo Blade where the cast plus director decide to go out to a yakiniku party afterwards. Aqua seems focused on trying to strike up a performance with Director Kindaichi, asking him some piercing questions that he eventually refuses to answer.

However, Himekawa is also curious about the answers to these questions, and takes both Aqua and Director Kindaichi to a members-only hostess bar. Himekawa tries to loosen Kindaichi's lips with copious amounts of "Wild Chicken" whiskey, but gets him so drunk that he falls asleep. He apologizes for messing up the plan, but Aqua reveals that he actually was also interested in speaking with Himekawa directly. He pulls out the results of one of the DNA tests, and the episode ends on the reveal that Himekawa and Aqua share the same father.

Next week will be a recap episode featuring interviews with the voice actors.

A couple of errant observations for this episode:

- Using the same track where Ai was stabbed for the flashback scenes was a diabolical choice.

- When Kana praises Akane's acting ability, we see the scene where her character is revived and Ai is superimposed over Akane during that scene. Is this meant to imply that Akane was purposefully channeling Ai in order to elicit that emotional response from Aqua? I'm assuming so, and that this was possibly even something they practiced together during their sessions with Director Gotanda.

- Doga Kobo really loves dropping that ship bait in there. That quick glance at Aqua and blush that Akane does as he's carrying her during the applause scene, as well as Kana's expression as she presents them when they're coming down the stairs are both funny details.
