The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Where Is He?
September 20, 2024 11:51 AM - Season 2, Episode 6 - Subscribe
Sauron's mind twisting of Celebrimbor continues as he pushes the elven smith to forge the nine rings for mortal men, while Galadriel in the company of Adar of the Uruk pieces together the next part of Morgoth's lieutenant's plan. On Numenor, an ancient rite is invoked and in the stone halls of Khazad-Dum, Prince Durin is conflicted over the influencing power of the ring on his father's hand.
There's also a little bit of hobbit action! And a certain word starting with the letter "P" is mentioned concerning the rings!

I think Halbrand made a statement that either eventually clued Adar in or he simply alleged Sauron was there. I'm not 100% sure without a rewatch.

So Numenor was not the weak spot of the episode this (last) week, huzzah! Somewhere in the production office of the show, the frame of Miriel in the water before the sea monster is a production art piece hanging on the wall. Pretty iconic, I thoughts! Pharazon grumbling now because he's not the first bully to lose because he followed the rules. However, I am sure he is not going to let go of the scepter, so much as just let Elendil free. We have to start packing after all for our journey east.
Poor, poor, Celebrimbor. He just wanted to make nice things and now Sauron is using blood magic to make sure he is completely unaware his city is under siege and he needs to resume his deep focus on the nine rings. When Sauron used the word "precious" I about giggled. One of the fun things to do with LOTR and Middle Earth is to track how many times different people use the word when referencing the one ring. It would make sense that the other rings of power would invoke similar feelings.
King Durin turning to Capitalism, but then, dwarves have pretty much always been the stand in for the ills of greedy behavior from Khazad-Dum to the Lonely Mountain - even without magical rings to spur on that greediness.
One of my favorite moments was Galadriel physically recoiling from the presence of Morgoth's crown. Given how few things frighten her, it was a statement in how dark and awful that hung of black iron is. And .... Adar is just hauling it around in a wood box like canned goods.
