Agatha All Along: Through Many Miles / Of Tricks And Trials
September 26, 2024 9:50 AM - Season 1, Episode 3 - Subscribe

The coven has a relaxing stay at a bougie beach house.

Agatha All Along’s practical effects were key to bringing its magic to life. To make the show’s spells feel real, showrunner Jac Schaeffer prioritized practical effects over green screens.

Mephisto! That sure changes things up a bit. [spoilers below for Marvel Comics stuff]

He's basically the comics' Kirkland Satan, tempting and/or making diabolical deals with just about everybody from the Silver Surfer to Spider-Man. As Agatha has been/is being portrayed, I can absolutely see her making a deal with him. And if the bit with Teen pans out, it knocks the previous comics-based "spoilers" about who he really is into a cocked witch's hat.

There are people who have been thinking Mephisto is the next Marvel Big Bad since like the first Thor movie, they might be getting their wish.

Also, poor Sharon -- but it's Marvel and it's a magical place, you never know what may come.

Also also enjoying the throwaway gags taken from various stories and myths about witches -- "I'm not climbing into an oven," Hansel & Gretel reference, lol.

Well, I thought this episode was super disappointing. I wanted more out of the Witches' Road than a reality show style contest challenge.

Predictions for character identity now that there's been a Mephisto namedrop.

Aubrey Plaza's Rio is definitely Mephisto's child, Blackheart. They've used that phrase around her twice now.

So, each episode is an escape room, and the earth one is where Aubrey Plaza will show up again?

And along the way, something will be revealed about Agatha harkness as a mother?

It could be worse. I like the performances

Have to admit, the hallucination sequences were pretty creepy, especially Lillia's.

Now I’m imagining Wong and Madisynn sitting on their couch in Kamar-Taj and actually watching this as a reality show.

I did like the concept of "we drank poison and we have to mix a new one with the ingredients in the house," that was a level of reality show cool you don't normally see.

What happens when there's no green witch, seeing as the potions one had to do her job today?

I hope the following episodes aren’t all escape rooms but suspect they will be.

Kathryn Hahn being an absolute shit is a lot of fun, so here I am in 2024, consuming Late Marvel one drop at a time.

We get Aubrey Plaza back in the mix, presumably.
