World War II Supercut

Some absolute madman/genius has watched every possible WWII movie, and made a twelve-hour supercut of them.

They begin:
For more than a year I’ve been working on the World War II Supercut, a video project that combines 143 World War II movies into one 12 hour series, with historically significant clips pulled from the movies and ordered chronologically.
Part 1 is an hour long and covers 1900-1930, and begins with an excerpt from a movie about Hitler's childhood.

I freely admit that I haven't watched the whole thing, because I have a job and a family, and would need to set aside an entire day just for this.

They watched the movies on 4x speed, they use ChatGPT to rough out some avenues of research, they build title cards for every segment, they buy instead of pirate the movies....Now that is dedication.

I can't seem to edit the post, so here is a more visible link:

My guess is that they probably could have googled up the same information as ChatGPT and it would have been more accurate and complete, so sort of a bad turn there. One should never under estimate how motivated some war history buffs are when it comes to lists.

It seems like an interesting project. I scanned the movies used and at first blush, while it clearly leaned heavily on some of the modern works, like Band of Brothers and so on, it was pretty encompassing. Missed seeing Grave of the Fireflies for a post-atomic bomb Japan, tho'.

55 minutes in. I love the concept and am enjoying the execution. Great post.

This is right up my alley, unfortunately.
