After the SG-1 team rescues refugees from war-torn Tollan, they risk court-martial to protect the planet from self-destruction.
SG-1 rescues a group of technologically advanced Humans, the Tollans, whom they find near death on a volcanically unstable planet. The Tollans don't want to share any of their knowledge with the more "primitive" Earth Humans, and because of this, the NID and Colonel Harold Maybourne plan to take them away for study. SG-1 tries to stop the NID by having the reluctant Tollans use their technology to escape.

Maybourne follows an interesting arc over the length of the show and he was perfectly cast. He's one of those "God, not that guy again," but you enjoy it, none the less.
Probably the biggest issue i have with this episode is Sam just up and giving her cat away. I mean, c'mon, you don't do that to Schroedinger! Omac was played by Tobin Bell and does a great job of switching from frustrated parent who doesn't want to explain everything to the kids to the parent who isn't that harsh really, if you give him a moment. Most may know him from the Saw franchise where he played Jigsaw.
Another love interest for Sam. Welp. Though, Jack is kind of emotionally unavailable, Teal'c is married, Daniel is married, so that doesn't leave many options for other characters and romance. The connection back to the Nox at the end was nice. It was kind of pathetic on the part of SGC that the best they could do was haul in the society that's basically a living history museum for ancient greek culture. Welp welp welp. They'll make more friends in the future, tho'.
