The Interim Board of The MetaFilter Community Foundation has moved ahead with creating a moderation oversight committee. Here's more information and how to get involved. If this is not your jam, no worries, there will be additional opportunities to get involved and support MetaFilter. That's it, that's the cross-post. But this being Fanfare, a few clips below.
Volunteers trailer (I miss John Candy but not the racist scripts)
Volunteer as tribute (Hunger Games)
I deserve some recognition (The Social Network)
The customer is always right (Falling Down)

"Falling Down" is a film I wanted to like when I went to see it, but instead came out of it feeling gross. Sort of an apt denouement to the Death WIsh / Bernie Goetz craze of the 80s, I suppose.

If I remember, the trailer definitely had a different vibe than the film ultimately had. Maybe it was because of how Douglas' character was developed in the film and so on.

Yeah, it is misleading to make him look like a regular Joe who was simply Pushed Too Far by The System. But instead he's a violent, racist, entitled psychopath whose wife has a restraining order out against him and who goes on a rampage across Los Angeles with the implied assumption that he is going to kill his family and then himself.
