So you have a silly Naked Gun-like police detective story, involving a Little Shop of Horrors-like carnivorous plant, with Inspector Gadget-type tech, and Monty Python-like visual gags.

It's not quite to the level of the best of those things, but there's a lot to like, it's silly and inventive, and the jokes never stop.

Lovely release as ever from Deaf Crocodile.

Oh and fun fact, the carnivorous plant was designed and stop-motion animated by the legendary Jan Švankmajer.

I've been very curious about this one. Nick Carter was a pulp detective who first appeared in 1886 (!) and various countries made films featuring the character over the years (I'm very fond of the 60s French films with Eddie Constantine).

Despite what Justwatch says Adéla ještě nevečeřela is not on Prime in Canada (at least I can't find it under any title). I'll keep an eye out for the physical (UPC of the Deaf Crocodile release is 860012020423 and officially streets Feb. 11 2025).
