[TRAILER] Small-town friends Reggie (Reggie Bannister), Mike (A. That said, I thought this was a disappointing finale. It misses the weird dream vibes of Coscarelli's previous Phantasm work. It's just as goofy and dumb as the other Phantasm movies, but Coscarelli's direction was somehow able to keep 1-4 compelling... assuming on you're on his wavelength. I also remember this having crummy computer effects.
I think my point is that the prior Phantasms felt personal, which kept them interesting, even though the plot may meander, and the script and acting may not be great. They at least felt like someone was trying something, and you could tell it meant a lot to them. This felt... not that way, even though Coscarelli was still involved in writing and production.
