Ok, so I guess it was just logistics for not torching Cromatry's body last episode.

Pretty cool premise of meeting one's younger self while needing to deny it, and vice versa as it ends up. Creates all kinds of causality problems.

Structurally, probably why the writers wrote in the "coming from different futures" for Jesse and Derek.
