This is a great movie for people who like movies where nothing much happens, one of those where you show up for the vibes and the quiet pointlessness (non derogatory) of everything. Extra meta bonus points for capturing the feeling of watching a baseball game in the experience of watching a movie.

A friend's spot-on assessment: every man in this movie is a man that I knew growing up.

Bill Spaceman Lee is why I'm going to check this out

My partner insists on putting the Jays games on and I'm no baseball person but Vladdy Jr is a huggable teddybear, and George Springer looks like he was teacher's pet in Grade 2

Do you have to be able to recognize Old Baseball People to enjoy it, or does it stand on its own?

I could use some marinating in Old Baseball Vibes, but if the whole schtick goes over my head like a line drive, maybe it's not worth the two hours?

I am almost exclusively informed on fictional baseball movies with the exception of the 04-05 season of the White Sox. I didn't even realize Bill Spaceman Lee was someone relevant until g.b's comment. I enjoyed it.
