They could trim out 22 minutes of community-theater gags and the final dramatic Mr. Poopy Butt-Hole monologue would still carry the joke. Ooooh-wee, gentle audience. Ooooh-wee to us all.

The portents are building to Rick & Morty : The Broadway Musical starring The Rizzler as Morty and Andy Dick as Rick.

I kind of wish that they'd leaned harder into the staginess of it--less cinematography (just a straight shot of the stage) and also not cheating with the appearance of Armothy--but maybe those are just some of the community theater tropes that I don't get because I've never done it myself. I can absolutely see someone who was on Broadway for 20 minutes a while back going completely Waiting for Guffman on that Mr. Poopybutthole monologue.
