RuPaul's Drag Race: Spoof!
March 24, 2015 10:24 AM - Season 7, Episode 4 - Subscribe

The queens assemble into three teams to write and record parody versions of RuPaul songs and shoot videos for said parodies. They are mostly passable. Ru gets cranky about a light dig at Drag U, the top three from last season are mimicked fairly effectively, and the wrong queen goes home.

I have to had it to Michelle, it's some seriously under-the-radar shade to refer to "a drag version of Courtney Act."

I realized last night that we are going to be stuck with Violet until at least the top five, if only because she puts on utterly stunning runway every week. Le sigh.

I feel the same way about Violet: that almost some Raja-level drag, but she is just the worst combination of shadydumb.

Also, I thought Trixie was killing it during her lipsynch (even though Pearl's look was pretty sickening). Really, it probably should have been Trixie and Kandy lipsynching in this episode.

#justicefortrixie

Also I lol'd at both Max's good-bye card and Trixie's response from the end of Untucked.

I almost threw a croissant at the TV when Violet was all "Whyyyyyyyy do I keep getting picked last for challenges?" BECAUSE PRETTY IS NOT A TALENT, IS WHY. "Shadydumb" pretty much sorts it.

#justicefortrixie indeed.

I'm just assuming Trixie comes back, because I want her to and that is how the universe works.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. BULLSHIT.

Was it just me, or did anyone else find the entire episode kind of hard to follow? Everything seemed kind of disjointed and nonsensical, and not in a fun way.

Also, I guess you can watch the videos again on Youtube, because RuPaul secretly hates us.

soups: There is a lot of tinfoil hattery going on at Reddit to that effect actually. The primary straw at which people are grasping is that there were some comments from Trixie in the season preview that haven't aired yet, and also one of the other queens said something to the effect of "you're right but you're wrong" in response to someone guessing that Trixie went home early -- which is either a little T or a little NDA.

It's not just you

I feel so validated.

Reddit is home to some of the finest tinfoil milliners, whose maniacal devotion to their craft is truly without peer. It's 98.26% bullshit, but it's entertaining.

Speaking of Reddit, the queens have verified accounts on the RPDR sub. Trixie's post-elimination thread.

That's kind of this whole season so far for me.

There's something going on with the editing, I think. It feels like the editors are trying to force the narrative together in a very inorganic way, and in the rush to pull the storyline together they are forgetting that we, the audience, need to be led to the conclusion that they have already reached.

I haven't had as much trouble following the previous episodes, though they have seemed to lack tension and focus. This one was just a hot mess, though. Everything seemed really arbitrary and thrown together.

Revisiting Max's tweet - if someone who was actually there and went through all the things says it didn't make sense, you KNOW it was bad.
