The most satisfying season finale I've seen in a long time. From the moment we saw the character, before he started stamping his foot this season, you've known John Silver was going to lose a leg. But to see how it happens and to see the crew go from hating him at the start of the season to gathering round to hold him down was amazing. That Jack and Anne got that golden moment on the ship -- two of them, really... incredible. Daring escapes, pirate treachery and solidarity, that ending with the governor. I really think this is one of the best shows on tv right now.

I even 'liked' the show on facebook today. And it seems they've cast a Blackbeard for next season!

Just finished watching, and you're right, that was extremely satisfying. I've marveled for a while how this show was structured, how everything sprung from the desire for the Spanish gold. Literally, everything we've seen has had that looming in the background and sometimes the foreground.

But now it's back in Nassuu, in a most unexpected manner and it really is going to change everything. It already has. Racham, Anne and Max are now the power trio on the island and within that, it's Max vs those two. Meanwhile, a pissed off Flint is headed there and the gold he risked so much for is in someone else's hands.

I can not wait for Season 3.

I barely made it through the first season of this show, because I signed on for high-seas adventures and got a near-totality of interminable captain elections.

This season has been a very pleasant surprise, indeed.

Same here - I found season 1 so-so, but this season was much better, and the finale was very satisfying. I'm excited for season 3 !

That's probably how the pirates felt too!

Damn but that was a satisfying season and finale. Vane and Flint are an item somewhere in the nether reaches of the interwebs, aren't they? They make a good team. I'm looking forward to when it falls apart.

Of all the brutal killings and backstabbings, Miranda's murder was the most surprising. Sure reconciliation wasn't going to happen but not this way. Good payoff though as I remember the question being raised as to who could have betrayed her husband. It seemed like a throwaway line.

Great show, great episode. Silver's left hanging in his own web of lies.

Heh. After watching the first few episodes, I started calling this, "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything."
