Justified: Fixer Rewatch

In tracking a vanished confidential informant, Raylan goes against a pair of violent ex-cons who are just dying for a showdown with "the Kentucky Cowboy."
A self contained episode focusing on Arnold Pinter, an informant who hates being in Kentucky even more than Raylan does. This episode also marks the start of the Raylan/Ava love affair.
My favorite moment in this one is the response Art gets when he tells Raylan his father was arrested - "Did he kill anybody?" The look on Art's face is perfect; he has no idea what he has in store for him.
Raylan Body Count: 2

I feel like it took several episodes in the first season before this showreally took off. I also have a vague recollection that this episode might have been based on a piece of one of Leonard's Raylan Givens novels, and that wasn't always a great thing for the show, I thought.

I'd watch an entire show based on Tim just going around being sarcastic to people.

Miranda's Steve as the fixer!
I thought Samantha's character was too much like Shirley from the previous episode. Again with the ambitiously violent man but then makes nice with the older scheming man who she had just left. Meh.
I was kinda grumpy about Curtis Mims' character. It seemed too stereotypical thug. I was disappointed in it. I get that we're dealing with criminals, but I was hoping for better.
I liked this episode in that it showed Givens working something out. He didn't know what was going on, but he was suspicious, and doggedly tried to figure out what was going on. I liked how his boss, at the end, said the week off would be a nice relaxing week for HIM, the boss. Like trouble just follows Givens around.

I do like Rachel and Tim razzing Raylan quite a bit though.
