Shelby is the best end-of-episode narrator.

This is the first storyboard ever by Madéleine Flores! You can see parallels with her webcomic Help Us Great Warrior! and some of her other comics. I’m really looking forward to seeing her work on Bee and Puppycat.

Oh! I remember her as the author of Witch and Knight! Which quietly went away. I guess this is why!

The design of the Rat King was really well done.

Felt like a real homage to Secret of NIMH at times.

Definitely enjoyed this episode and loved Shelby's incredulous response when Kent sprouted arms and feet. The ending was stupendous with the flowering tree. The Rat King was all sorts of psychedelic and to a degree, I think that made it more threatening. The quests for things was neat, but at the same time, how those things which were won by Kent, were pretty much mundane things for us, mud, bottle cap, etc. It was just a wonderfully scaled down heroic saga.

"I was born yesterday, so I haven't really started worrying about my mortality." -very bad paraphrase. Great stuff.

This felt like an epic movie told in 11 minutes (without the rushed feeling some other AT episodes have).

a rat king is a snarl of rats who have their tails tied together in a knot.

I really liked this episode!

I loved this episode. Shelby's reactions to Kent's transformations were hilarious and I loved that Kent picked the "more noble" choices for the most mundane reasons during his quest.

Also loved that the blacksmith bug was just randomly in bed with Kent.
