Angel: Guise Will Be Guise   Rewatch
October 29, 2015 6:31 AM - Season 2, Episode 6 - Subscribe

A very plot-twisty and humorous episode brings us a (fake) swami advising Angel, Wesley pretending to be Angel, and a (not anymore) virgin being sacrificed.

Barely any arc to this one, with Angel going off to see a swami for advice (including a great lampshade discussion of why a vampire lives in L.A. and drives a convertible) and Wesley guarding Virginia Bryce (Brigid Brannagh, a.k.a. Brigid Conley Walsh), who would come back a few times this season.

I'm definitely re-watching this one soon. I love how constantly Angel pokes fun at its own mythos.

I'm working off of memory, (I've seen Angel's complete run... dunno, four, five times?), but this one sticks out as particularly awesome.

I loved the fake swami - reminded me a bit of Ed O'Neill, which is a good thing.

Wesley's subplot was both wonderful in its own right, and a great precursor to him later becoming a brooding antihero for real. Virginia was fun too. Also, the whole, "I'm not a eunuch!" thing still cracks me up.

I haven't seen this since broadcast but I have firm visuals in my head of Wesley's pretending.
