They took their sweet time setting up that fight, but just when I was starting to get flashbacks to the first season finale, Zoom showed up and justified the whole thing. That was a great beatdown. Couldn't tell if he and Barry are the same size, though.

What are the odds that Linda won't come back as a superheroic Dr. Light? Gotta be in the cards, right? Between her, Firestorm, Hawkgirl, Jesse Quick(!!)...we've got the makings of a decent Justice Society here!

I really enjoyed that Zoom is more of a monstrous villain: the kind of faceless mask, the voice, the size. It helps differentiate him from last year's Reverse Flash, when it really could have been more of the same. I also loved Linda in this episode. I wasn't a huge fan of her last season, but she was great last night.

Easily the best episode of the season so far for me, and one of the best episodes of the series. Tom Cavanaugh is just killing it (no pun intended) as "Harry" Wells, I'm so glad they kept him on.

If this season doesn't end with him (and Jesse?) moving permanently to Earth-1 I will be very very VERY upset.

That was fun.

* Loved the cardboard cutouts. Loved the cardboard cutouts getting blasted even more. That was a great training montage. (I, too, am hoping Linda Park becomes a good Dr. Light.)

* Earth-2 Harrison Wells is great, and must stick around forever. I really appreciate that he's playing his own game, and I loved him not falling for Cisco's attempts to vibe him. I also like that Zoom did not, in fact, send him.

* Liking Zoom, although he does remind me quite a bit of Reverse Flash, (whose costume struck me as pretty demonic). Him catching the lightning bolt was a particularly good moment in that beatdown, no matter how ridiculous it was. (I like that the show embraces the goofy comic book stuff, honestly.)

* I hope Patty is brought in on things soon. (Seems like she should be - her resources to figure this all out on her own are substantially better than Iris' were, last season.)

Did Cisco not see Jurassic world?!?! He definitely saw Iron Man.

Then who will be the sole remaining person who doesn't know Barry is the Flash?

I don't have too much of a problem with thar be secrets but I feel like they need to be a little less stupid. Hey fellow cop, just drop this whole thing about an at large murderer. No, sorry, I do not buy that a detective swallows that so easily. Why wouldn't Joe just say "I have it from a credible informant that she's skipped town, so let's just let the APB do its work and we go back to these other things."

I . . . . . urrrgh.

I thought last season was fun, I'm liking this one even better for a whole variety of reasons.

But.

Cisco gets vibes, often when he touches people, and those vibes are connected to the people he touches. He's way too smart to have not made that connection.

So he touches Wells, sees Zoom confronting a girl chained in a cage.

How does he not IMMEDIATELY go, "Whoa whoa whoa hold on here! I vibed Wells, I saw Zoom and a captive girl - WELLS IS HIDING SOMETHING AND AND IT'S CONNECTED TO ZOOM!!" and shut down the entire plan??? I mean, he already doesn't like or trust the guy - at the first sign that anything was off he should've been shouting it from the rooftops, and he probably would have immediately assumed that Wells was in league with Zoom.

Major record-scratch moment of bad writing smack in the middle of an otherwise good episode.

Counterpoint: he saw Zoom demanding to know why Wells went to Earth-1, which would mean that whatever he's doing there is absolutely not at Zoom's behest.

Yeah, you're right about Cisco's vibe suggesting that Wells & Zoom aren't in cahoots.

But I still think that particular vibe should've set off Cisco's WTF alarms in a big way - it shows some connection between Wells and Zoom that he's kept hidden, it would've made total sense from both a character and plot perspective for that vibe to trigger more arguments among the Flash team about how much to trust Wells and whether their plan was a good idea or not. It just doesn't seem in keeping with what's already been established in the season to make Cisco's vibe reveal be a minor "Oh, by the way, who was that girl in chains?" near the end.

I dunno. I can nitpick with the best of them but I am comfortable with the idea that Cisco has not spent a lot of time thinking about the specifics of his ability he wishes he didn't have. He sees things when he touches people or things and they have already happened. In this vision he's got Zoom asking a prisoner what Wells is up to. I think I can buy that he thought this was interesting and a sign of an agenda but not that he'd betray them.

I think there's also some reason here based on the fact that Barry is pushing hard on the we're going to work with Wells and we're going to do this plan. Barry is the person who is always on the front lines so he's the one taking the biggest risks. I buy that Cisco would defer to that somewhat.

In Cisco's vibe vision (vibsion?), he sees Zoom asking Jessie why Welles went to the other Earth. She responds that she doesn't know. Zoom replies that her loyalty is admirable in a very ominous voice. She screams.

Seems like Cisco would rightly conclude that Zoom and Welles really are enemies and that he's concerned about Jessie's welfare. Whether or not Welles is good or a villain (and is on the outs with Zoom) is another matter.

Christ. Zoom's victory lap with Rag Doll Barry was just harsh. They've really sold Zoom as a force to be reckoned with, despite having the goofiest name on the planet.

Also: "I've made out with The Flash!?"

The idea of Linda as full time Dr. Light hadn't really occurred to me because I was so busy making the :-o face at the ending, but I really hope it works out that way.
