I'm trying to figure out now if there's any point in trying to guess who killed Scotty, with the shifting sands of character development. At first I thought it might be Cherry, just on Law and Order principles: she was introduced around the right time, and the mother bear killing one of her young to somehow rescue the others seemed likely. This season I started out thinking it was Helen, maybe based on some plot developments that reminded me of a very famous crime thriller I won't mention for fear of giving spoilers on that book. But I noticed someone asked Maura Tierney if it was Helen and she said "Oh no, ha ha," and she probably didn't need to answer that question.

I'm not a stickler for fair play in mysteries-- I don't think it really exists anyway-- but if it turns out there was no point whatsoever in quessing, I'm going to be kind of annoyed.
