Everyone in the Nine-Nine springs into action when Terry's wife Sharon goes into labor at the precinct: Jake and Gina discover the doula within, Rosa and Terry make a daring escape from Rikers, Amy and Boyle scale a mountain of paperwork, and Holt has to bury the hatchet with an old ex. (special guest star Nick Offerman)
that was the sole baby-related thing i have ever enjoyed aside from my hysterectomy

Jake referring to Sharon as his God Wife cracked me up. But nothing approaches the awesomeness of Andre Braugher's Captain Holt.

Oh, and speaking of him, I thought they showed admirable restraint in not having that scene at his house end with a reveal that he and Dave are together. Holt being in the wrong is both novel and a better gag (and feels more honest for the character).

I love it when characters are allowed more than one note. I like it when Peralta isn't a complete man baby, when Amy stands up for herself, when Rosa smiles, when Charles is a good detective and not just comic relief, when Holt is wrong. I tried to think of one for Terry but I can't because Terry is already All Things.

I loved Terry's interrogation. And Hitchcock and Scully being "helpfull". Actually I just loved this whole episode.

Holt cutting Boyle off before he can express thanks was delightful.

Was this sweeps episode written and filmed before the rest of the season? The characters’ hair and clothing looked more like they did in season 2, and no one acted like Jake and Amy were dating.

Pretending it's not happening is the only way Holt can keep himself from repeatedly asking "this is who you want to be with?"

I wish Nick Offerman had gotten a better part than that so he could be on more often. Some role like Wunch's would have been great.
In other news, Ava is not any detective name that I can think of or find while Googling and I am disappointed in Terry for not naming her after some other awesome female detective like the first two kids were.
(Agatha, Nancy, Jessica, Laura....Laura Holt would have been excellent.)

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes. Everyone is on their game, the stakes are high, and also Nick Offerman.
