Conclusion. In the seventh season finale, someone is killed on the movie set.

I suspected the second Archer was a cyborg when he didn't seem to realize how many bullets were left. Archer *always* knows how many bullets are left.

I do not get what they were going for there. If the real Archer thought Veronica might be the killer, why did he leave any bullets in the gun? If the one in the pool ends up being another robot, why did Archer/robo-Archer leave more than one bullet in the gun? If none of them thought Veronica might be the killer, why wasn't the magazine full? Four is a weird number of bullets to have in the gun.

I think with the three Kriegers and Luigi's striking resemblance to Archer, the producers made sure they could still go both ways (Archer dead vs. Archer groggily throwing coconuts in Mexico).

We saw the online comments and everybody was saying, ‘Well, that’s how they’re going to do it! That’s obviously a Krieger robot there,’ and we were sitting there watching those comments with glee, like, yes, yes, come to me, because that was definitely planned to make everybody think that they figured it out.”
This whole season has been one long "This is so obvious that they can't possibly be doing it this way..."

Derringers sometimes come with only a few bullets; they're small so only a limited number of cartridges can fit into the magazine.

It would be a typical Archer way to go.

It was a very smart play. They left it so it will seem plausible no matter what happens.

Loved "Milkley," "Copley," and the second Planet of the Apes reference of the two-parter.

The Internet Movie Firearms Database hasn't caught up to this episode, for the identification of the gun that Veronica uses.

It would still be a more satisfying series finale than Deadwood.

It looked like Archer's Walther PPK to me.

It was a generally satisfying conclusion to the season. As always, Archer comes and goes with way too few episodes. Assuming they return, will they remain in L.A.? Will the Figgis Detective Agency remain the cover?

I have to admit I am kind of hoping that next season has meat Sterling dead and replaced with Robo-Sterling who maybe doesn't know he's not meat except he's obviously not meat but he just thinks all humans never have to pee.

The above linked article included a bit where the producers say that if they return yes, Sterling will be a PI.

Well shit this is the first I've heard that they weren't coming back. Now I'm sad.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I thought the season wasn't just ok and not awesomely funny like previous seasons. Cheryl was one of the highlights for me and now she is mostly a bunch of non-sequiturs rather than an interesting crazy person. Still love the show and hope it comes back!

No need to be sad yet, its apparently not unusual for FX to drag ass like this. Some amount of pondering is probably pretty reasonable for a show like Archer that has so much of its success after the first airing. (TV By the Numbers lists it as getting a 125% increase in viewership in the 7 days after airing; only 14 shows show a higher percentage gain in the +7 and only one of those, a Real Housewives show, beats it in raw numbers of people watching in the +7) This post-airing success is talked about in one of the articles linked above.

Stay in Los Angeles? As if LA needed another minus.

I recently rewatched season 7, and I've decided that if the show does come back I'm seriously shipping Cyril and Malory.

They hooked up in the episode where actress Rona Thorne showed up.

Indeed. And it would drive Sterling insane.
