After episode 5's smoke ceremony, I thought maybe when Cora's old spirit went to the tree her young body would remain, or maybe a resurrected Ash would be left behind. Felt bad for her, but, then again, she was a participant in profiting from the double-cross of the Hairy family, not an innocent bystander. Felt a lot worse for that poor nameless kid who got shot in the head by the CA at the checkpoint, especially in light of how many people the US police have murdered this week.

Very glad that Araluen escaped the brothel and Minister Matthews got what was coming to him. And since the show is already renewed for season 2, hopefully the whole surviving family will be reunited. (That was the father in Slade's lab, right? Koen must have taken him with him when left Slade for dead, right?) The creature effects for the Nomorrodor were kinda SyFy Channel bad-movie level, but, whatever, I think they got away with it ok.
