I get kinda frustrated at these nods to continuity, because there's not quite enough of it for my taste -- it only reminds me that there are these other things that could be happening in the background, but they don't seem to want to let them.

The relationship between improv and continuity in this podcast is interesting. They're so deep in the “yes, and...” mentality that almost anything that anyone says becomes canon. The contributions to continuity that I enjoy the most are when they decide to elevate and revisit a toss-off joke like the “Chunt for Red October”, or Usidore's mistaking a plate of croissants for his beloved Jyn'Leeviyah*. But on the flip side, there have been a few times when it seemed like they collectively regretted bringing something significant into the story, and made conscious efforts not to make too much of it in subsequent episodes. (I'm thinking specifically of things that seem too modern-convenience-y like Arnie's car and the “magic box”.)

*That spelling of her name came from a fan Wiki, and seems excessively complicated. But whatever.

I drifted off of listening to it after Arnie's "wife" came back - I thought they were about to launch into a broader narrative, but they just kinda went back to hanging out. I might come back to it at some point with different expectations though.

(I'd also kinda love to see a crossover episode with The Adventure Zone. Just a one-off, guys! Come on! How fun would that be?)
