I'm still waiting for Alchemy to say "I want to play a game."

I'm pretty burned out on the Berlantiverse playing the "who is behind the mask?" suspense card after how long that went on last season of Flash with Zoom's prisoner. (Funny thing - I can't even remember now who was actually revealed to be in the iron mask.) Alchemy here, 2 more on Arrow...sigh.

Liked the plot developments otherwise though, glad to get the Killer Frost secret out, and for Wally to get his speed power soon.

I'm keeping up with The Flash grudgingly at this point, mostly for Tom Cavanaugh. This ep was... I guess to their credit, there was some stuff that interested me.

* Poor Wally. Locking him up was the right thing to do, but they were all a little quick to agree, they didn't give him anything to entertain or comfort him, and no one was even just hanging out in a folding chair on the other side of the glass. Like... whoa, guys. If I knew someone in that same situation, I would've wanted to be physically present for them, not watch them on a security monitor.

* Poor Caitlin. I actually like the way her plotline is being handled, but it's still painful to watch: this is more or less exactly what I expected from Team Flash. Handling this just hamhandedly enough to make it worse, even while wanting to help her. Also, I was disappointed that nobody entertained the possibility that he was the bad guy in the future vibe.

* HR and the handcuffs cracked me up. HR horning in on Joe's date cracked me up harder. I think I'm cool with Hipster Wells, even though I want Dick Wells and Jesse Quick back sooner rather than later.

* The Shade was super lame. No supervillain should ever be defeated with car headlights, I'm sorry. They should've needed to build some super UV bomb or giant flashlight or... you know, anything cooler than that.

* Seeing Savitar mostly made me annoyed. The whole premise is that Barry Allen is Barry Fast! More speedsters who completely outclass him dilutes the premise of the show, and tends to reduce everything to stupid footraces so they can 'see who's fastest.' I really hope they have something cleverer in mind this time, but I don't hold out any hope on that point.

Oh, and:
(Funny thing - I can't even remember now who was actually revealed to be in the iron mask.)

Earth-3 Jay Garrick, played by John Wesley Shipp. That's another reason to be irritated by The Mask Game - most of us were all convinced it was him the first time they showed him. Whoever's under the Alchemy mask, it won't be some clever twist, it's just going to be annoying.

It's Jullian. This show isn't clever enough to lampshade his absence as a red herring. Jullian didn't show when the police were coming for Alchemy because he's Alchemy.
