A new discovery: prodding the brain with light, a group of scientists were able to turn back on a part of the brain affected by Alzheimer's disease.

I wish they had led with that stat that something like 95% of what works on mice doesn't work on humans. I mean, in a broader sense this is really interesting, but they linked it hard to human Alzheimer's from the start and then pulled the rug out at the end. I've long thought that Krulwich revels in casual cruelty and I'm afraid what the show will become without Jad as the counterbalance.

I feel like that's a super Radiolab thing, to be broad at the start then clarify, huge announcements like this were only going to be on a podcast with some context like this.
