Fear the Walking Dead: Brother’s Keeper

As Nick and Jake set out to handle a delicate situation, the Ranch prepares for a threat greater than any they've faced before.

Why was there a horde of walkers just wandering around the desert waiting for Jake to pied piper them towards the Ranch?

This was probably my final episode of anything Walking Dead related. Troy should've been dead ages and ages ago, and instead? We have Nick leaping to save him again, even as Troy brings doom down on everybody. They lose the ranch, Jake and an unspecified number of redshirts all because Nick just can't put down an actual monster, even though he's been doing worse for ages.

Plus, as you say, having a horde in the desert that nobody noticed before? Kinda ridiculous. The whole setup feels like I'm watching one of GoT's invincible karma houdini sociopaths, minus the thin justification that show offered for them.

I dunno what they're playing at, but I think I'm out.

My half-baked theory is this: If I were going to set up two different series in the same world (which, by the way, Kirkman has managed well with books set in the same 'verse, such as the Rise of the Governor, et al.), I'd have them intersect at some point.

In my opinion, one of the only ways to do that would be to have the FtWD gang become part of the Whisperers storyline. I'm not going to spoil anything, because they won't do it and I never actually read that far. But the idea that Medison and company could end up running into Rick and crew is fairly ridiculous, unless they came at each other from opposing groups.

Yeah I'm fairly tired of "mom and her weird friends ruin everything, now it's our turn to ruin things too" story hour myself. :(

I... oh my goodness. You almost made me snort my Coke over here, Unicorn!

I have read the comic far enough to be familiar with that entire storyline, and hell, Madison could end up founding/running the Whisperers. Nick's already dabbled in the lifestyle, after they burned the sanctuary in Mexico.

Up side: Z Nation's back, so at least there's something watchable and zombie related going on right now.
