I enjoyed Chester and would like him to be a regular. I was sad to hear they'd stick him in the cooler for 6 weeks or whatever. I would also subscribe to his YouTube channel.

Chester is a character from the comics -- "Chunk". In the comics he is a vortex that sucks everything into himself, in a sort of extended fat joke. (I'm just as glad they did not cast a fat guy.) He ultimately gets control of his powers and makes a living contracting to the government to dispose of toxic waste.
They can only kill off Oliver if they do it at the end of the arrow season, surely. Do we know when the big crossover is happening?

Per TV Line, the Crisis schedule is:
Supergirl: Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8/7c (special time)
Batwoman: Monday, Dec. 9 at 8 pm (special day)
The Flash: Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 8 pm
And then, in the year 2020:
Arrow: Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 8 pm (special time)
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 9 pm (special episode)
And per Den of Geek, that's Arrow episode #8, then they have two more in the series (link)

The episode seemed to foreshadow a couple of future developments. First, given that this is the final season for Arrow, is there anyone who doesn't think that Oliver Queen will end up sacrificing himself in the upcoming "Crisis" crossover so that Barry can defy the dire prophecy of his death?
Second, are they setting up Chester (the guy whose consciousness got sucked into the black hole) to be Team Flash's new tech guy when the actor playing Cisco leaves the show? He got a lot of face time for what normally would be a minor one-shot guest role. And they certainly didn't have to resolve the storyline temporarily in a way that leaves him hanging around Star Labs for a while, so I'm guessing we'll see more of him.
Good to see Jesse L. Martin a bit more active in this episode, hoping his health is better now.
Lastly, I know it's beside the point to complain about any of the "science" in The Flash, but the way the "black hole" worked in this episode was just silly. Surely, an actual black hole would be "eating" everything in close proximity - buildings, the street, etc - and not just functioning like a vacuum cleaner sucking up debris and random objects nearby. They should have just called it a "dimensional vortex" or something vaguely technobabblish like that.
