Yaaaaaaaaaaaay. I'm enjoying this season so much more than last season. I mean, don't get me wrong, S2 was satisfying in the end, but it never felt like it made for good episodic-spy-thriller-red-herring-of-the-day TV, either.

Although I'm sad about Webb, I was mildly amusing myself by picturing him as King Hugo from The Great. Or the other way around? Either works, I suspect.

But really, any episode that allows the disgraced Jackson Lamb to annoy his "betters" is a-ok in my book.

The slow horses are making progress, yet also aren’t as good as they think they are, excepting Standish of course: Cartwright assuming the next knock on the door will be his salvation, twice; Cartwright and Louisa getting spotted by Webb and absolutely roasted; the new pair getting double busted by the police after their B&E job.
Kudos to Gary Oldman and the costume, lighting, and camera crews for making Lamb’s stench all but visible on the screen.

The day after we watched this episode, our dog wandered into the kitchen, farted, and left behind an eye watering cloud of stench . My partner and I decided that was probably what it smelled like in the back of that car.

Cartwright getting the crap beaten out of him was the funniest thing I've seen in ages, and I don't feel great about that, but it was definitely what the show intended so...

Similarly, I shouldn't feel so good about Cartwright's depression schlub chic, but I can't help but think how much more I like this guy in S3 compared to S1.
