I didn’t think I’d be so stunned by the Marauder getting blown up but here we are. Now it really feels like any of the characters could get killed. Speaking of: where’s Gonky? Is he safe? Is he all right?

Also I’m now 100% certain the operative is Tech. He even sounded like Tech with a voice modulator. Clever Dee Bradley Baker!

This episode felt strangely emotionless compared with last season’s finale. I expected Crosshair to be more upset considering how close he and Omega have become.

Well, it wasn't a finale, and Crosshair looked really upset (inasmuch as he ever does) while he was arguing with Omega.

I pretty much knew this was gonna happen, but Crosshair missing the shot was a blow.

My concern now is that Hunter is going to lose his shit at Crosshair, and may think Crosshair betrayed them again.

I assume that the season will go for the full 16 episodes as the previous ones. I'd certainly hope that they wouldn't end on basically the same cliffhanger as last season.

I'm also in the "the operative is Tech" camp. Not just being able to destroy the Marauder with a few little limpet mines, but cracking Phee's encryption; those go beyond being a carbon copy of Crosshair.

I thought the shuttle just went out of range, not that he missed the shot. Am I wrong on that? This because he got interrupted by the storm troopers and had to fight them off so he could take the shot.

We get 15 this season, but I expect it'll be an extra long one...as it's the series finale. Yep, this is the last hurray for the Bad Batch. Which means we likely won't have a cliff hanger unless it's a thread that will somehow be picked up by another SW project.

I hate the idea that it could be Tech, but at the same time, that seems like the most likely answer given the ongoing prevalence of the operative in the story telling and not to mention, a reminder of Tech's sacrifice right there in the episode.

Seriously! Once the operative spied the shuttle being loaded I thought, "No, they wouldn't, but they have to...argh." Gonky is safe and sound, but slowly traversing the ocean floor back to shore.

I was legitimately awaiting for a few things to happen in this episode that didn't: 1) Asajj showing up and saving Omega, and 2) an orbital bombardment of Pabu, and 3) Omega using the Force in some capacity. I still think at least two of those three things are a possibility.

Am I crazy or did the Operative park their shuttle in the same place as Asajj? They really need to put a gate on that cave entrance.

One thing that bothers me is that if it is Tech, wouldn't he already know that the Batch is located on Pabu? Why would he need to decrypt anything?

that pause was emotional, through all the armor

Oof, rough day.

Hopefully enough people saw/heard Omega surrender herself that Crosshair won't get blamed. He's been notably unsuccessful at forcing Bad Batchers to do anything, anyway.

I'm about medium on board with Operative Is Tech right now. The guy does not seem unusually gifted with technology to me. Last time he was doing the old see-if-hitting-it-fixes-it thing. This time he set off Phee's car alarm, in the comedic high point of the episode. (If this Operative isn't Tech, then Tech may be one of the not-ready-for-deployment operatives Hemlock mentioned?)

It occurred to me that one of the Operatives might be Cody, who we haven't seen since partway through last season. Where is Cody!

The Winter Soldier had to be deprogrammed before he recognized Steve Rogers. Maybe Tech got the same kind of mind wipe.

Man, which would be the darker ending?:
- Hunter and Wrecker get killed
- Hunter and Wrecker get turned into mind-controlled Imperial assassins

Cody is fine. Gonky is fine. Tech is is fine. Pabu is fine. Omega is fine. The Marauder is... um...

The existence of Batcher gives me some hope. The clones could all be doomed, but Disney wouldn't kill a cute dog, right?

Final scene of TBB:
Camera pans across smoking wreckage on a steep hillside. An Imperial Star Destroyer passes overhead. Batcher the Lurka-Hound whines, pawing mournfully at something charred which is (mostly) out of frame.

End scene.

... these are the people who made Rogue One, after all?

(Mostly kidding: Filoni won't kill EVERYONE.)

If we go off Filoni, then Hemlock is a goner, and so too, is one of our heroes. I can see a finale where Palpatine hobbles around the ruins of Taniss and tells them to ship everything to Exegol.

Great, one more entirely possible but unwanted scenario.

This looks amazing and picks up on our favorite padawan gone bad, Barriss!

Hmm, apparently one of the main writers has recently posted on Bluesky about the 10th anniversary of the MCU movie Captain America: Winter Soldier.

... what a coincidence.

I was listening to the "A Complicated Profession" podcast while weeding the yard, and I wonder if TBB can go back through Ventress to locate Omega? I do think it would be good to see her once more this season...

Not just yes, but HELL yes
And, realistically, the only way TBB could effectively assault Tantiss with any hope for success would be with a fully armed and operational grey jedi

But first they have to find Tantiss. My guess is they’re going to bust Rampart out of prison and make him an offer he can’t refuse.
