Mystery Science Theater 3000: BLOODLUST!
December 1, 2016 4:33 AM - Season 6, Episode 7 - Subscribe

"The Foulest Passion of Them All!" Mike Brady is among the prey in The Most Tedious Game, hunted for sport by a rich guy. With short Uncle Jim's Dairy Farm: A whimsical fantasy in which a couple of city kids go to stay on their uncle's farm and don't claw their eyes out with boredom. The short's great, but the movie's kinda dull. This episode features a fateful introduction... it's the first appearance of Mary Jo Pehl as Pearl "Mother" Forrester! The fiddle player during the square dance sequence is not one of the main cast. It's someone you might have heard of! Check the episode notes for details. YouTube (1h32m) Premiered September 3, 1994.

Movie:
Daddy-O's Drive-In Dirt - Rotten Tomatoes (Critics N/A, Viewers 12%) - Wikipedia
IMDB (1961, 3.1 stars)
"A crazed hunter kidnaps people and turns them loose on his private estate, where he hunts them for sport."
Directed and written by Ralph Brooke. Starring Wilton Graff, June Kenney, Walter Brooke and Robert Reed.

Short, "Uncle Jim's Dairy Farm":
Daddy-O's Drive-In Dirt
IMDB (1960, 2.2 stars)
"Two city kids spend a summer on Uncle Jim's dairy farm, and learn about how to feed animals, and what passes for fun on a farm."
Produced by the Jam Handy Organization. Nobody seems to know the names of the actors appearing in it.

Notes:
Last episode started a weird running gag where Crow would be sitting on the bridge, doing something, and Tom Servo would rush through in a little car and run him over. The gag continues in a host segment here.

Check it out! The second host segment, the one where Mike and co. square dance while Crow calls, features fiddle music as backing. Guess who plays the fiddle off-camera in that segment? Believe it or not it's popular and funny comedian MARIA BAMFORD, who's native to Minnesota!

The MST Wikia notes that Robert Reed, Mike Brady himself, appears in this movie, but the guys only refer to it once. It says it's because the staff resisted easy Brady Bunch jokes because Reed actually died of AIDS during the shooting of the episode and they wanted to show the guy some respect.

This week's show is again in the cytube room, at https://cytu.be/r/Metafilter_MST3KClub, tonight (Thursday) at 9 PM ET, 6 PM PT.

This week we're also discussing plans for this year's "No-Stress" Christmas Marathon. The idea box is open for inclusions! Note that it helps out the most if they're already on YouTube or some other video streaming site.

Jharris - FYI, I was there. Cytube seems to work on my Ipad; I just can't use the chat function. But I could still read everything you guys wrote.

For posterity, my "Bloodlust: The Musical" song:

When I was a boy
I wouldn't kill
But now I enjoy
That deadly thrill
It's Bloodlust
Bloodlust
Though you might think it unjust
For you
It's true
In Blood I Trust
Bloodlust, Bloodlust! Bloodlust!

What a terrible movie, but at least it was semi-coherent. Thanks for the million Cary Grant/Gary Cranch/Double Cranch jokes.

I flipped through the over-the-air channels tonight and found this episode of mst3k on a channel called "Comet". Between the summer-on-the-farm short and the feature there was a commercial for a class action suit against the Just For Men hair restoration company, and a weird ass insurance commercial with Flo.

This is the kind of bizarro flavor you just don't get in today's modern streaming systems.
