Poor Greg. All he wants is to be close to his son. Even though he fought Lapis Lazuli the same as they did, the Gems seem very prejudiced against him. At least, after he saves the day. Pearl fixes up the van as good as new.

There's an analysis contrasting Pearl's fastidious problem solving with Greg's rough-and-ready approach that I can't quite fit it together in a way that makes sense. I think it's another example of the show's "It takes all kinds of fruits to make Fruit Cup" message.

The show has just jumped right in to direct continuity, huh? That surprised me, that this and the two lapis episodes are part of an ongoing storyline and not the episodic thing that the earlier episodes were.

That said, I love Greg Universe and am glad to have more of him. I am hopeful that his remark about how he was "uncomfortable" with how dangerous Steven's Crystal Gem missions were will come home to roost. I was kinda surprised that he didn't freak out when Steven healed him and even more surprised when he teleported!

I'd be surprised if Greg didn't know a lot more than he let on. He and Rose were inseparable for a while.

At the end, I think Greg's duct tape was sparkling with magic.
