Arrow: Deathstroke Returns

Joe is taken hostage by mercenaries and the mission to rescue him gets complicated by a terrible revelation that could shatter Slade's hopes of reunion forever. Meanwhile, Vigilante reappears in Star City.
Well he was a billionaire playboy with a survivor backstory. Maybe they think he's on par with a washed-up Kardashian or something.
That episode was so frustrating. On the plus side, the slowed down tempo of Slade's fight scene reminded me of the fight scenes done by Denys Cowan in The Question--which is exactly what I want to see more of in comic adaptations. Forget the sped-up camera work, give me slow, well choreographed fights that we can actually watch.
On the other side, I hate what they've done with Joe. I was so looking forward to the Arrowverse version of Joey Wilson/Jericho. He's got to be the cheapest character to do from a special effects standpoint, while at the same time, being useful to the team. Plus, as a character, he'd be a nice antidote to Rene's toxic masculinity.
Can't say I'm too chuffed about the Vigilante's ties to Dinah, or his invulnerability.

1. Oliver is the only "famous" person Slade knows.
2. The show needs to drag out "I quit being the Green Arrow and yet still give Oliver something to do" for a few more episodes.

"The flashbacks feel gratuitous and redundant and stop this episode in its tracks. Always, Arrow, always.
"It’s as though this was always intended to be the first part of a two-parter, only somewhere along the road the Arrow writing team realized they just didn’t have enough stuff to fill part one. The result: some time spent watching Slade Wilson load his camping equipment into a trunk." Har.
Why would Oliver Queen have enough "celebrity power" to help in a war torn foreign country?
