Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: The Nomination of Brett Kavanaugh
September 30, 2018 11:11 PM - Season 5, Episode 24 - Subscribe

This week (after a gap of some episodes, sorry about that), after an introduction acknowledging Trump's embarrassing UN conference and the Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty, the whole show was devoted to the main story, Brett Kavanaugh's looming confirmation, and the terrible implications if he is confirmed.

This episode should be required viewing for everyone in the USA to see just where we are now. People tend to tune out politics until it directly impacts them because we're all so busy with day to day things, but this is really important.

Yeah, I second that everyone should see this.

I watched it. I've been following the story from a distance and after watching I'm not sure how to channel my rage and sadness productively. I didn't realize it was possible to be this angry and this tired at the same time. I think I'll go take a walk.

Watch or do not, but please be gentle with yourselves.

Watching this now. I watched Ford and listened to Kavanaugh's testimony, and can say that the latter is much, much easier with audience laughter.

If only there'd been a laugh track for the original.
