The parents wage an all out assault on getting the kids back. Xavin's proposals are rebuffed. Aliens are very hard to kill.
AV Club: Runaways ends its second season with all-out war and some new villains
Chase thinks Nico is sticking pins in a voodoo doll of him. That may be legit.
Xavin, she's barely met you, she has a girlfriend and she has NO IDEA on this betrothal thing. Cool yer jets.
“He wants to meet up.”
*everyone flips the bird*
“They’re interested. Continue?”
“....Am I really this small?”
“Your mom is definitely driving this thing.”
Finally, someone makes good use of a scooter!
Oh lord, Gert just met another nerd guy. When the heck is she gonna have time to look for another boyfriend?
“I should have never let him play Grand Theft Auto!”
“To be perfectly fair, we have not had very good luck with aliens around here.”
So at some point Leslie got knocked up by Jonah again. Great idea there, girl.
“I mean, maybe he just needs a good moisturizer.”
Jonah is now in Victor. That answers that question. He is formally known as "The Magistrate."
“You have no idea how much that one can talk. Especially on a long trip.”
“Honey, look, our special hat!” “Not any more!” AND THEN THE GLASSES COME OFF IN A RAGE.
How does Dale not know Spanish and yet think he knows Spanish?
“I did what was necessary to restrain the youngling!”
“Flip you.”
“Good thing we sent the employees home early.”
“Fly me.”
“It’s dominoes, bitch!”
“When we get out of here I’m going to have you EAT HIM.”
“You know your dad, tiny bladder.”
“They call me Mr. Brightside. We haven’t gone on a road trip in a long time!”
We’re up against an entire family of aliens who are hard to kill. And presumably Nico is the fourth ("brother") infected.
So, status update:
Okay so far: Xavin, Leslie, Alex, Molly, probably Robert
Possessed: Nico(?), Victor, Stacey, Tina
Getting arrested: Catherine and Geoffrey
On the run: Dale, Gert, Old Lace
About to be eaten: Karolina (okay, probably not her), Janet*, Chase
* Wait, if Jonah/The Magistrate and Janet were having sex, is there another potential royal baby? How potent is alien-ish sperm, anyway?
"In loving memory of Stan Lee."
Man, I hope Runaways doesn't get canceled like the Netflix shows. I like this one.

I figured it mostly because after they brought up the brother, they cut RIGHT to Nico. But then I went looking around online and another theory is that the "brother" is inside Leslie's baby. I dunno, y'all.

I think the cut to Nico was a deliberate fake-out, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Man, I love how this show went from sort of a light and easy teen drama to a deliciously complicated bit of conflicting challenges.

I thought it was pretty clear that the brother is Leslie's pregnant baby, 'cause she was very confused herself and they didn't hint that she had more sex with Jonah recently. And I was also expecting it to be Alex because he's been kind of a dick and ramped up wanting to take down PRIDE, which would benefit the Gibborim.
So now Jonah has slept with two different women in PRIDE, that'll surely come up at some point. I wonder if Janet will have the next alien baby.
The whole season was a little uneven but I was entertained and invested enough to keep watching. I don't like cliffhangers like this one in general but it's nice to have multi-season arcs like this to really lay out the story.
