November 8, 2014 6:55 PM - Season 6, Episode 6 - Subscribe

Damon believes if he sees Elena, all her memories of him will be restored, but it doesn't. Alaric asks Elena to see if Jo knows about vampires, and she discovers that Jo is a witch and knows Elena and Alaric are vampires. Tripp captures Damon and Alaric. While looking for Damon, Enzo, and Alaric, Elena decides she wants her memories back of Damon. When they cross the border, Enzo, Damon, and Alaric slowly start to die and get magic stripped off of them. Jo was following Alaric and rescues him, but he comes back alive a human. Stefan rescues Damon and Enzo. The episode ends on Elena opening her dorm room to Damon.

It took me five minutes to realise that Alaric as a human can't return Elena's memories, hence all the apologies. Seems like a ploy to get one of the Originals back for a crossover.

MORE BONNIE. Less Jeremy.

I think it's maybe a way for them to have Demon "win" Elena back by romancing her from scratch, OR it's a way to open Demon up to being with someone aside from Elena (such as Bonnie) since Elena would have once-and-for-all cast him aside.

My main thought about Jo saving Alric was how relatively difficult he'd be to save compared to a lot of the other vamps, and whether anyone else would try to get human-ified now. Stefan and possibly Damon would be pretty easy, since iIrc they bled out from bullet wounds? I mostly would like to see Caroline or Elena try going into Mystic Falls since it seems like it would be impossible for them to smother or drown just by crossing the city limits. I mean, without magic, how would Elena drown on dry land?

I miss Kai and Bonnie. Even though this was a pretty good episode, 1994 is now my favorite part of the show. No TLC, no one-strap overalls?! WHY AM I EVEN WATCHING.
