I don't expect I'll be doing weekly threads for this show, but just wanted to get one up for the pilot because I agree with the reviews that this is a great vehicle for Gugino. She is just mesmerizing. (And drinking at the fountain of youth apparently, holy fuck.)

I was extremely impressed by this. The best pilot I've ever seen, excepting possibly the one for Lost. I'm a bit worried that all the effort and care and money went into the pilot and it's downhill from here.

Looks like it’s only a 9-episode season, so I’m thinking they probably filmed it more like a long movie/miniseries than a traditional pilot first then write the rest of the season after pickup green light.

Immediately saw s02 after watching this. Everything about it is highly polished, and I'm really digging the costumery.
