I'll be following this to see how things go. I haven't seen season two yet. I'm up in the air as to if I want to invest time in it as I am afraid it's just going to needlessly draw things out. Daniel and Johnny were so close to reconciling last season. If they're just going to keep throwing needless obstacles at them, I am okay with never watching another episode.

Sorry for anybody that read my spoilery comment before I flagged it, didn't realize this was an episode specific thread.

I watched season 1 & 2 of Cobra Kai a few months ago -- I think everything but the first few episodes of S1 was behind the premium paywall, but when I signed up it was free for the first month so I just zoomed through all the episodes and cancelled my account before the month was up. When season 3 drops, I'll probably pay for one month so I can watch the new episodes uninterrupted. I'm probably going to need to wait for the S2 finale or full-season before I can say much, as it's all blurred together now.

Fukiyama - without spoiling anything, I think the writers have done a really good job over the course of the seasons at making the conflicts organic. Like, I never get that feeling that the writers' room played rock-paper-scissors over whose turn it is to carry the idiot ball. It's more like a classical tragedy, where I can see the disaster looming, but it is inescapable.

I don't know, I just saw Macchio, Zabka, & Kove at DragonCon this weekend, so I'm feeling especially enthusiastic for S3.

Overall I think the first season was better than the second, but I'm still jazzed for S3.

This is a marvelous way to describe the show and the characters. It lives and breathes with decisions having ramifications, be it a character's decision to do or not do something, or another character's decision that affects someone else.

For some reason I posted this as episode one of season 2, but probably need to ask the mods to change this to the whole season 2. Then we can get into more detailed convo about what's gone down unless folks would prefer episodic discussion!

Probably best to just go ahead and post a separate full-season thread, Atreides, so as not to spoil anyone who might have added this thread to their Recent Activity.

I have a "was there CGI in this scene?" question, but it's a bit spoiler-ish as it relates to Episode 10.

Incidentally, it looks like the first 3 episodes of Season 2 are free on YouTube. I also hesitated to dive in, because I liked the first season a lot, and didn't want to see things needlessly dragged out. There's a lot in these first episodes that I really like, but it's like I dread the inevitability of the conflicts to come between each episode.

But the fact that they've taken the setting of the movies and stayed with their audience, so that instead of telling a coming-of-age story, they're telling stories about finding a place between generations and passing on lessons incompletely learned? That's pretty great.
