My Brother, My Brother And Me: MBMBaM 492: The Naming of 2020

It has arrived. Our annual opportunity to place a steady hand upon the rudder of the new year is here, and boy howdy, it's a big one. Twenty-Twenty?! It's the same thing twice! Is that anything? Please? We're spiraling. Suggested talking points: Down to Beesness, Tenure at Cool University, Lunch Smell, Faded at Spangles

Well, heck, it's not like they're going to stop me from getting some bees.

I honestly don't know how I pronounce "twenty" anymore. Twunny? Twenny? Twinty?Pretty happy with the theme they came up with. If you haven't checked out the merch yet, I recommend it. It's so charming how much of a tryhard Travis is with this kind of stuff. I'm so much like him down deep, but I have (mostly) learned to put a lid on those sorts of impulses over the years. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Ninety-nine cent margs has a real "Disco Demolition Night" vibe to it. Be safe, Spangles.

I too am happy with the theme they picked.

Also I will forever respect the brothers for carrying the torch for weaddababy-eetsaboy which is low-key one of the funniest commercials ever.

I feel so connected to them, on such a deep emotional level, when they make clear that Weaddababy Eetsaboy affected them as much as it did me, as a child.

My only complaint is I wish they would have explored 20 twice options a little deeper.

You know, I felt that way too, and then I thought... In this year, which is an election year, which is THIS potential re-election year, I do NOT want to be prompted to think of anything even remotely like "Let's double-down!"

I was laughing so hard at that bit

2020: Twenty's Plenty. The year of saying "that's enough, thanks."

I love that they cracked up the most about "fill your life with laughter and love".

OK I just got to the bit where they actually say "Twenty Plenty" and I have to say that in my British accent (southern England), twenty and plenty rhyme perfectly.

"Twenty" and "Plenty" also rhyme just fine in my American Midwestern accent, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Was that press release old or is Pizza Hut doing the exact same promotion, because I remember they already did this on munch squad and made word for word the exact same points about the sad boy on the day of his father's defeat. I mean what else can you say about that really. This isn't a criticism just an observation.

My theme for 2020 is Hindsight is 2020: Protect ya neck. It's much darker than theirs but the spirit is the same, I'm just resolving to give far less of a shit about anything that doesn't matter and trying to think before sticking my neck out at work. Hopefully the end result will be the same.

Oh my gosh, I turned off my car just as munch squad was starting, and when I turned it back on my phone started playing a different old episode that I had turned off just as munch squad was starting and I didn't notice. Haha weird!

There's definitely room for a MBMBAM randomizer that just feeds you random segments in an endless loop.

I was all set to get down to bees-ness, but I am OK with filling my life with laughter and love.

Though they really need a wine glass with that etched on it or they're leaving money on the table!

Or some distressed wood with a Cricut stencil slapped on it.

They had the merch out the same day as the episode. This is NOT 20-leave-money-on-the-table.

Oh God, that's exactly what I was thinking of.

Anyone know if the Spangles turned out ok?
